Don's 120Y Panel Van revhead001 2008/3/27 11:20 Tell a friend 2201 8 9.00 (1 vote)
How often do you see one of these? Took me 10 years to finally find one for sale in 2003. It reignited the flames of datsun passion. |

Re: Don That was me that bought the SA panno thinking it would be better than the other 2 that I have but it is just the same. He said it was in good condition and used a little bit of oil but after a service and tune and additive it ran out of oil around Baccus Marsh. I had 440ml of oil in the back which got me to Melton. Then in went $10 of K Mart's finest to get me home. Next time I started it a week later it was a no go. Now it's in the shed along with the pictured one. At least I got a good set of doors. Bloody hardest bits to find.
I am thinking of cutting the bare metal one in half and putting it on a susuki chassis and making a 4x4 tray. Like a mini Navara!! Wouldn't that be a pisser. Now if I could only afford to pay attention I could do one of my projects.

Re: Don It was on ozdat. I was desperate for money at the time. That A12 was a serious oiece of work too. I sold it for $500 and the guy rang me back to say no worries and that it went great. Big regrets there. I really don't want to sell any of them but 3 panel vans and a backyard with 2 kids and no room in a filthy shed is starting to give me the smurfs...
The doors are only the same as the 2 door wagon. The 2 door sedan has the same doors as the coupe. I learned that the hard way. The p/v has straight top lines while the coupe and 2 door sedan both have approx 15mm drop following the roof line.
p.s 2 door sedans are ace.

Re: Don did it sell on ebay?
I bought one for $200 a couple of years ago but it was pretty rusty, a mate still plans to replace the rear end using wagon metal then turn it into a drag car. There was also one on ebay in SA last year, it went real cheap for its condition, $800 IIRC.
