Oh well what are the actual specs of the turbo , as you say Rb25 sized then it made good power and as stated it made no power gains when boosted so a bigger turbo of known origins should be used not a turbo that is good for "550HP" that is why garret etc are known for good quality turbos as these replica turbos may look huge in physical size but it's the wheel designs / trims where it seperates the real quality turbos I have personally seen a master power /E-bay turbo which looked as physically big as a garret 30/40 make only 270rwkw on a RB25 engine then replaced with a real 30/40 and make over 340 rwkw they physically look the same it was all in the wheels as the garret had more blades and a more aggressive curve on the wheel . By no means a shot at anyone as I am jealous your car actually is going and power figures will always dissapoint other people as one dyno can read lower its like my friends skyline it made 445 rwkw and on a "dyno day " it made over 510rwkw it made a good talking point between people and the huge dyno power sheet was always produced to show off .It makes good power can't wait to see with a larger turbo setup might really get to use those cams then hey ! Congrats Tappet keep us all informed of your progress lucky bastard.
im not overly impressed either, it's about the same size as a rb25 t3...
i was told it was a 550hp turbo but i think it is more like 350hp... it was maxed out at 16psi, full boost hit by 3900 .. time for an upgrade i think...
we boosted it up to 22 but only made 15hp more, so backed it down to 16..
Just a little off topic, but what wheels are on your car? I saw it at Big Chiefs on monday night and really like them, I reckon they are nicer than watanabes, by the way, nice nitrous gauge
