 Re: Titan strut bar!
what aftermarket strut bar will fit a stock 1200 pick up? my right strut tower move an inch and it has a big impact in handling. thus putting a strut bar can fix my problem? thanks!

You can buy aftermarket 1200 ones but nit many others can be made to fit easily. It's trail and error with skyline ones, but you need to mod and redrill the holes on them.

If your strut tower moves that much, is it rusted trough or had a accident? A strut brace won't fix that, and if it's in driving I'm not sure how you are measuring it's movement

Good day! it's the rust under the right fender that made the strut tower move.
wait, i'll upload some pics.

A strut brace may hold it where it is or back a little where it should be but I think you need to fix the structural rust you probably have in there that let it move so far.

yes, you're right. that is what we're going to do. put a strut bar then weld it all back together.

I have not thought about it before, but are our Datsuns so weak, so structurally inferior that they need one of these, even in street cars?

Do they flex enough to upset the suspension dynamics in competition & are there areas where the flex causes chassis cracking?

track 1200's will crack at the back of the strut towers, and top of the A and C pillars (though I suspect the C pillar is a coupe only problem - the sedan would be alot more rigid there witht he better C pillar and a rear bulkhead) where the lead wipes are for the roof joins.

having said that, I noticed no difference at all to the handling of my old 1200 coupe track car with the front strut brace fitted. But mine was to IPRA rules which meant you could only join one strut tower to the other - not permitted to go to the firewall, which adds some triangulation and a fixed point to help pevent flex.

 Re: Titan strut bar!
will it flex?? not sure but my coupe will eventually be doing drag duties and will be putting somewhere near 400rwhp with the new motor. in which case big launches will lead to chassis twist...so if i can help even a little then maybe the body won't feel the effects as much....or maybe i just wanna look cool....

so again i ask....where do i get one or is it a owner built thing and not a retail item?

Hello every one.

This bar is SPL oder from Portugal.

We can treat it with aluminum, stainless steel, iron steel, titanium a lot.

that is a sweet looking strut brace!

To give you an idea, our rally car dosn't have one, but the roll cage extends through the firewall onto the strut towers. Rallying is probably the roughest punishment on cars but it has no where near the lateral load of tarmac cars, so im not sure.

towers would see higher loads in rallying with all the yumps and jumps etc etc... you never see a strut punch through the bonnet in circuit racing.

having the cage extend to the strut towers would add far more rigidity than any strut brace could ever hope to! wish IPRA rules allowed it.
