I cannot believe it happened. There is still the odd bargain to be negotiated out there. An absolute champion sold me his driveline for $500 plus an extra $100 to drop it off at my brothers in adelaide. HOWZAT!

Mmmm, R3,714.46 Not a bad prive all up, though in ZA the lot would have to be in much better state, even on the outside, for that price. Otherwise I'd just tell him to go stuff himself. But unfortunately they haven't been selling them for the past 4 million years over there, like here, so I guess one couldn't b very picky as to what you will take or not.

Not sure yet. I think it is a 60 but my brother is going to let me know in the next few days. Once his "Carlton just broke the drought" hangover has subsided

THe bid must have been on for all of 10 minutes. I gave him a call and he seemed keen to get rid of it and he had to drive to adelaide and he saw an oppertunity that suited him. I asked what he would be happy with and he set the price. He even told me that he knew it was worth much more but he was more than happy to da a fast secure deal. Fast cash equals happy man. The box is a bit stiff gearing down to second so it will probably cost a bit to repair yet.

Good price in Aus from what I read.

A14s here came with dog-leg 1st gear which are good. I had an 1979 A14 SGX Coupe B310 Sunny that came with that box here in NZ - it had a beeper connected to the reverse gear switch so you didn't mistakenly think you're in 1st gear and come to grief.

Looks like a 60-Series transmission. A 4-speed?

Yeah DD it's a 60. My brother emailed me yesterday after checking the side for the casting number. I'm happy but it will change the engine mods for the panno. I will probably just stick with a mild donk instead of wild.

The 60-series 4-speed is a good one. It can handle the torque of an A14 or A15. So no worries if it's not a 5-speed.

She is definately a 5 banger. Old mate was telling me it was a country road driver out on the coast. His reasoning behind the filth. I'm still pretty stoked about it. I don't really want to risk breaking it so I will just build the car as a mean cruise machine.

It would be good to have the choice like Kululua over in South Africa. "Tell him to get stuffed" he says. I wish. You are a lucky bugger!
