Not big enough. I like the way Ianey and 1200rallycar's set-up is. Would light up a football oval

Ianey tried to copy his idea, but he ended up simply melting everything that drives past him, and is also the reason why you get roo'burgers these days...*HAHAHA*

 Re: Spotlights to BIG !!!!
My father once told me that in the 70's he had spotlights on his 510(to be precise, it was a 1600SSS). He and my mother drove one night with them on for the whole night.Think they were lucky not having traffic from the front. This was on a long trip on the old dusty white sand roads we had in the 70's.Think he told me they were going to visit my mother's parents.Apparently they were rally spot lights.Anyway, when stopping to get some fuel, the car did'nt want to start.
Spotlights was so strong, they pulled dead the battery and pulled so much power from the altenator that it did'nt have enough juice to charge the battery.
From there on, when he knew he was going to stop and switch off the car somewhere he switched off the spotlights to give the altenator a bit of a gap to charge the battery aswell.

OMG, they're not big. As far as spotlights are concerned, they're just leeeetle ones & as driving lights, they're about average size.

Aussie driving lights can easily be much larger, depending on the vehicle they get used on & the purpose.

'Hella' & 'cheapies' in the same sentence?

The discussion on spotlights reminds me way back when on my first datto [120y Wagon] it had a pair or Hella rallye 2000's up front. one was a spread beam and the other was a spot beam. I was doing quite a bit of driving from Sydney to Bathurst at night every other weekend. the Hella's would light up the road as if it was daylight.
They look big on this 4WD, they looked massive on my little vb210.

Yeh you can buy cheap Hella's. Hella is no longer the leading name is spotlights! LightForce are alot better in alot of peoples opinions. Read some of the wright ups on them. Shoot em with a shotty at point blank and they'll survive no worries. about 1 900m beam for the non HID 240s(like mine).

I couldnt resist, heres mine. I got the blue spot/spread lens' for wank factor but the spead helps alot too! Such a good light! Not the best pic of the spotties but you get the idea!

 Re: Spotlights to BIG !!!!
Their not big spotlights. I have lightforce 240s on one of my cars! Go measure that on a ruler to see just how big they are!

I recon if you run spotties on a datto you should have rectangle ones under the bumper(if applicable). Or the old standard ones like on a 1000 if thats the look your after. Not these cheapo narva/hella round jobbies bolted to the bumper!
