Will it not create so much heat that the blue silicone hose connections will burn.
Or are the hose connections also high temp tolorent.
I know the normal silicone that you get can take quite alot of heat.

that damn turbo was a pain in the ass to create in cad... the other stuff, not so much....

those silicone tubes...

they seem to have no problem handling the heat there...

and indeed I think they are spec'ed at about 650

you probably could have found a CAD block on the net somewhere already constructed for a turbo, though probably not for the specs that yours is...

I could have and it would have cost me $30.00 too.... and yes, they are not always all that detailed, and usually one can not brake the block up, so the abillity to rotate the housings would not be there...

I do a lot of cad stuff, though not much 3D and have seen them on the net, there are a few free sites but not sure if they have much like this.

What Cad you using?

EDIT: As I have done a LOT of Cad stuff I can appreciate how much work goes into these things...

I'm on AutoCAD6 right now, but every now and then I need to use 7 becuause 6 don't have the function.... like that compressor housing, to get that snailshell shape... what a mission.... and not even 7 can get it 100% it's a coned tube, extruded on a hilix, and the hilix is not flat, or not supose to be.... mine is, but it looks damn near spot on... so I'm happy

Iv'e been designing a CAD engine for the last 12 months and its a sh1t load of work. It started life based on an A series but has developed into a gear driven OHC crossflow fuel injected monster. If any one is interested in having a look could someone post there email address and I can sent them a screengrab to post for me because I cant remember how to post pick of the right size. Sorry but the files are not for sale.

The biggest mechanical things that I have done is paintball gun designs and paintball hopper designs, but never found the money to put anything into a prototype.

I have done LOADS of Surveying and Architectural stuff though...

Have even thought about getting the theodolite from work and 'detailing' the ute to create an accurate 3D model... though it would be painfully time consuming both in collecting all the info and in drafting it in CAD....

 Re: A14 EFI Turbo
It would take some serious computing power to create a ute in 3D especially a high res model. I just recently saw a 3D model of a jap bike engine, they used 5000 scan points in excel then imported the file into program. The final results were suprisingly blocky. They are now doing a 20000 piont touch probe scan to try and increase the res accuracy.
Pretty hard to do even with todays technology.
My model has been designed at 1/10th scale and is designed with all the necessary clearances because one of these days I want to machine it up and get it running. Maybe then I will sell the plans.

well I 'm able to man-handle this one on my pc, and it's an old antique, compared to what I wish I could have....

you make it sound like you never thought of going down with the exhaust manifold???
