Ok its confirmed the L20a rod is shorter.
The l20a is 128mm and the l20b 145.9

Thank goodnes for the ozdat calc
can anyone send the a series specs to the administrator of ozdat to update the calc?
it would be very useful.

DDgonzal or anyone else have pin height info and other stuff like chamber sizes etc?

I don't have those details, i think the factory manuals don't show them. You can find the information online: Google search of Datsun1200.com: piston "pin height".

Please add what you find out to our own Wiki. Why rely on ozdat? You can add it here: Piston Comparisons/Potential Swaps

Thats one nasty big rod but the main bearing journal is smaller meanig less friction but less crank strength?

 Re: ROD COMPARISONS
am i seeing that right?

the L20 (six cyl) and the A14 rods are identical bar the length?

so you could build an A14 with a longer stroke...

hmmm...

Sorry to dig up an old thread but has the L20 rod got the same crank jounal size as the A14 crank?

What is the length of a L20 rod and who has some?

bump

ANyone know the rod length of the e15et rod?

its supposed to be 140.5mm c-c (centre to centre) but the L20a rod is supposed to be 145.9mm c-c and yet it looks shorter than the e15et rod.

Best rod nissan ever made and heaps of the e series turbo rods goin to the trash heap.

The small bores are perfect to make extra power, clear the skirts for big stroke conversions and with arp bolts unbreakable.
Currently n12 and other pulsars are handling over 330hp at the wheels with these stock rods.

 Re: ROD COMPARISONS
the e15et piston isnt actually on the rod is it? the rod isnt lined up with the hole in the piston? At least thats how it looks to me

edit: looking again it probably is, just the angle makes it look different

 Re: ROD COMPARISONS
The thing is that the e15et piston has a shorter pin height on the piston compared to the L20a one with the taller piston.

So if it is an optical illusion then the e15et rod is 140.5mm c-c.

I miss Feral.
