I'm happy to see that you have completed the trimming of the interior...unlike me.

I also have a penchant for brown or red vinyl so I can see both sides of the discussion.

I remember once going to a Z-car show and listening to judges debating what shade of brown vinyl a late 71 240z should have...

It's good to see anybody passionate about the ol' 1200...

I dont think thats the point they(we) are getting at. Just alot of fans of the oldschool on here. And a bright red valour with a wanky steering wheel with the intention of more guages to acompny your monster tach arnt really oldschool

This guy has his name on the rego papers and more than likely proof of ownership. Therefore he is entitled to do as he wishes to his car. As long he likes it thats what counts. Be happy for him i am.

beattie i apreciate old skool as much as the next man but seriously how many white utes with brown vinyl interiors do there need to be? i thought this site was about the datsun 1200 and sharing info and expressing individuality and showing off the things we have done to our own dattos and its not red velour its suede and vinyl, the wanky steering wheel is real leather and made in italy rrp $480 so its not your average supercheap autos woodgrain veriety, the monster tacho was there wen i bought it and is alot more useful then the clock that was there originally and yes i wouldnt mind an oil pressure gauge, oil temp guage and a water temp gauge to keep an eye on things. the main thing is that this is my ute and its a lil bit different, i enjoy seeing pics of other peoples utes and the different things they do. how interesting would it be if 50 people posted pics of white utes with brown interiors and the only distinguishing feature between them was the choice of either superlites, jellybeans or hotwire mags

Well brown vinyl and white isnt oldschool either. Thats what the new 1200s have isnt it?

A 1200 is a 1200 to me anyway. They all look the same. 1000s is where its at!

ZigZag... Leave the jellybeans out of it! And ignore negative critisism. I have always said when people ask what should I do...??? Do what you want. Build the car for yourself. Not for Beattie or Dodgeman. Michael Jackson built his own face and I can guatantee he didn't do it for the public or his family. The difference is when you grow tired of the ute it can be changed as your tastes change.

My 2c worth.

good work zigzag on being an individual, at least you've come up with your own style rather than just copying the japanese or mainstream oldschool. Red suede tempt the laaaadddiies??
