The new bumper also arrived, but it was not chrome and it had a ugly join in the middle. So I sent it back.

A friend of mine got them for me while he was in vereeniging, so I dont have there number. If you want call Goldco in Kroonstad (056)2121133, ask for Jan, he is the one that got them for me.

Buy the way, mine are up for grabs, ive decided not to install them. R200-00, thats what I paid for them.

Ive had the same problem a few times, that some overseas sites rejected my credit card just because its a ZA card. Go figure, lets do what everybody else does, blame it on apartheid.

Buy the way guys, I got these indicators for a small spares shop in Vereeninging, called SPARES SHOP. They are cheap R100.00 each. Thats $15.45 to the Australian guys.

You don't need a credit card, a lot of people say that, you do however need a fixed email address, (no hotmail etc.) I just use my work one. I don't have a credit card and buy either, and I am seriously addicted to ebay purchases!

I wouldn't be to sure that he's buying stuff off ebay, or has a paypall account. ZA credit cards are not allowed to have or use either of those two. He probably has an overseas card, unless their policies changed in the past month or so. Last time I checked we still weren't allowed to. Otherwise I would have had a few cool datto goodies already...

We can buy stuff of various other internet sites though, just not ebay, or with a paypall account...

EDIT: It has something to do about how our banks want to settle amounts charged to our credit cards, that neither of the two mentioned sites are happy with...

i dont have a credit card either. you just check how they prefer you to pay. alot of them do 'bank deposit'. just use internet banking and transfer the money almost right away. its easy

International direct deposit transfers are not that simple in my experience.
Domestic, ....... yes.
International ... no

I would have thought that an eBay account & a PayPal account was something that was available to you.

With these two things, the world is your marketplace.

Are there still trade embargo things in place? I thought that all ended years ago.

Well, we can if we want to. My neighbour buys stuff all the time from ebay and the internet.
Me on the other hand don't have a credit card and I'm not interested in one.As far as I know you need one for Paypal, etc.
The other thing is I don't trust giving my financial details over the internet juuuust yet. Call me old fashioned.

They all have the join in the middle, even my original. Unless you weld it up, grind it smooth and have it re chromed, you're not going to find a single piece unit...

EDIT: Oh, where did you get these new indicator clusters? Mine's old and faded, with a crack or two here and there...

Re: My New under bumper indicators
There are in fact three different chrome bumpers that were used on 1200's

The most common by far is the two piece with the join in the middle.

There is also a three piece unit with a main bar & the two corner pieces bolted on.

I have only ever seen two or three of the one piece bumpers & one of them is on my 05/1973 built Coupe. I presume that it's the original & no, it's not a welded-up two piece unit.

EDIT
It must be remembered that Aussie spec cars were all Japan sourced, even the CKD ones, but South Africa had their own manufacturing plant so it's probable that they stamped their own bumpers & only one version was made.

As far as I know, only the two piece one is currently being offered in the 'replacement' market.

I am also interested to know where you got the new lights from. Mine also has a little fading in them. Not too serious, but it is anyway a good idea to get some spare ones for the future.

Try eBay. There are sellers with these pretty much all the time.

Click on this link to get the Aussie home page. Scroll to the bottom & click on the name of the country who's eBay that you want to check out.

This link should take you to the Australian eBay Datsun 1200 pages.

Oh look here's some new blinkers.

And here's some more.

Don't thank me, it's just a service I provide.
