Bumped into this work in progress today. The wheel arches all cut outs from VW Golf 1 front fenders and were welded in. Front, rear bumper and sill panels is fibel glass.

were the factory 1200/1400 body lines not good enough? Looks tacky imo The engine half makes up for it though i guess

The flares are definately more tasteful than bolt ons.

Good thing that I'm seeing this now. I've been thinking of widening my car's arches to fit the wider semi's in properly, and was contemplating using Golf Mk1 fender arches because they have the same look and feel as the original Datsun arches, just wider. Now I'm convinced that my thoughts were correct, and I'll do it as soon as the painter is ready to work on another car...
