I finally got around to Nissan Welkom to check out one of these new Nissan Bakkies, the NP200.
To be honest im very dissapointed in Nissan, that they have the guststo put a Nissan badge on this thing.
The build quality is crap.
The damb thing is FWD.
The dashbourd is so cheaply built, my 3 year old daughter could have done a better job. (Very plasticy)
Its just not a very nice bakkie. No Radio either, optional extra.

I owned a Renault Clio around 2001, the 1.4 8V one, and this engine and covers and stuff looks exactly the same as what the Clio's did.

So can we conclude that this new Nissault is not related to the Datsun 1200 in any material way? Engine is different, layout different, design different, heritage different...

The Nissan 1400 was the last of the Datsun 1200 family line.

I must say,i'm amazed any manufacturer would produce a car these days without even the most basic radio installed.

I hope for Nissans sake they don't attempt to ADR them and send them to Aus.for i fear they'll get laughed into oblivian(again) as they did in the dark days of Clayton(Melbourne)build days.

And this is the company that forced the entire automotive industry to lift it's game back in the 60's and 70's
