I'm completely confused, what motor is this? Is that a anti explosive intake thingamajig on the intake manifold?

Nice install BTW...

EDIT: I don't know why I want to think that is a Fiat motor of some sorts...

You would be correct, 2.0L Fiat with a head off a Lancia Integrale!
