 Re: Carburetor bore extender It's primary design is to direct the atomised fuel mixture at low engine RPM closer to the bottom of the manifold where the heat exchange is at it's most efficient to prevent fuel from de atomising against the top of the colder inlet manifold. It is mainly for when the engine is cooler to help the engine to run more efficiently.

 Re: Carburetor bore extender Well the mixture isn't traveling much further is it? Seeing as the component is on the inside of the manifold. And if it were to affect the velocity at all I'd say it would be the concept of a smaller tube/volumetric channel that would serve as a jet.
I thought it was to specify direction of the air so as it'd flow more directly over the heated platform.
