usually you will have to use a power reducer as they dont need much to light up and will blow the led if too much power but with the indicators they will flicker too fast and wont pass pits but with the reducer they will blink like normal

I saw the led light setup at a local auto parts store & thought I would give it a go (its all set up to work as an extra park/stop lamp)
I found out after lots of swearing and cursing that it needed a one way diode on the brake light wire (i think!) then it worked a treat!

Oh & Unfamiliar, most of those bulbs shine straight upwards in the factory mounts (sedan), so you have to pick carefully.

LEDs are supposed to take less power than incandescent bulbs.

But will this pass inspection?

to be honest would probably be non roadworthy in australia due to our ADR's (australian design rules) but i dont think most inspectors would notice, as long as the pretty lights work as suppsed to on old cars

Fittng a led style light into a existing tail light assembley will get pass ADR. As the tail light is allready ADR approved for that vehicle. As long as the park light is not to bright.

You will not need to upgrade any wiring as LED lights use less current than incandesant bulbs. You will need to install a resistive device as LED lights do not have the same resistive load as incandesant bulbs. Without this the flasher unit will flash faster than normal. (Indicators)

Resistive device is not required on a 1200 Brake, Tail and reverse lights. But it is required on modern cars as these look at the resistive load of the lights to determine when a globe fails, to turn on a warning light.
