standard A12. So far it needs a new fuel pump. It will run if gas is put in carb, but only for 5 seconds or so

Looks normal to me. What is different? The coil or it's location?
Do you have yours against the firewall? Or perhaps have a High Energy coil?

Mine was mounted to the firewall but still looked similar...

That's the standard 1971-1973 ignition coil -- in the standard location.

Notice the ballast resistor next to it.

Looks just like mine, except my coils have a little resistor looking thing on the nearest strut bolt. And my air cleaners have a choke/smog? part on the neck of the air filter housing.
