Re: 260Z Input shaft machined to suit A series tiny 140 mm clutch disc (stock A-series disc is 180 mm)
260Z input shaft (5-speed) is 1" x 24T A-series is 13/16" x 24T or 18T so the input shaft can be machined down to smaller diameter and then re-splined
Also to fit the 5-speed input shaft to the A-series crank, the pilot end of the shaft can be machined from 16 mm down to fit the A-series 12.2 mm spigot bush bore, not sure what the exact finished size of the shaft should be

Re: 260Z Input shaft machined to suit A series "so the input shaft can be machined down to smaller diameter and then re-splined" no need to respline the input shaft! you just need a clutch plate with that spline or get your chosen plate modded for one

Re: 260Z Input shaft machined to suit A series Yes, I reckon when Simon modded this 71B gearbox to fit the A-series that he modded the shaft to take a stock 1200 clutch
I he just left the spline alone then a factory stock clutch would fit the A-flywheel (the HB210 clutch or L14 clutch) ... and then maybe he would have had less trouble finding a 5" clutch to fit
