Naw, the 56A 4-speed was fitted to 1973 1200s.

This is the gearbox that I Got has a casting number 56a on the right side of it.

What is the sizes of the bearings in this gearbox?

Would like to repair it..and change bearings.

They are standard bearings. When you get them out, take them to a bearing supply company and they will match them up.

Are you sure your unit s not a 56L? They look near identical.

Have got a gearbox like this Today.
Notice it has too mounting Places.Want to fit in a 1200.would like up at back or front?if lined up any need to use other mounting point?

The 56A is a stock Datsun 1200 gearbox. Used in all 1200s from 1973 up. Only the 1970-1972 sedan/coupe/van had the weak 56L. All 1200 pickup had them starting in 1971.

Just ignore the 2nd mount bosses. It was used in some cars to mount the exhaust pipe.
