If all goes well this will be my new project. Its straight, no rust (only small surface) just untidy. I plan full resto as it has been sitting for 10 years.

 Re: new project
time for an update. Work has slowed because Ive managed to chop my index finger on my right hand to the bone and cant use it for 6 weeks. But so far I have removed the bonnet boot, front guards, front valance, all the lights, the engine, gearbox, diff and trivetrain, front suspention and all the insides. So it is a bare shell with glass and doors ( will remove the doors next week). I have wire-brushed the ENTIRE underneath of the car and hammerited (best antirust paint Ive found) the underneath and in the process derusted and repared anything Ive found (5 spots none bigger than a 50c piece. I will take the diff and crossmember in this week for sandblasting and powercoating. I have a new set of recaro fishnet buckets, new carpets and a coupe dash for it and uprated suspention allround ( 2 1/2 lower all round and 20% stiffer) and a complete set of nolithanes for it. Once my finger feel better (couple of weeks) and everythings back and ready I'll start the reasembly bar the motor and then its panel and paint time. still havent decided what engine to run in it, worked a12, mild a14 or a15? its a street cruser nothing to big or wild or expencive (not to much engineering). Oh and Ive got an amp two 2way 4" and 2 tweeters and 2 6x9" and a head-deck. I will take more pics and post them once work commences.

 Re: new project
Its Been a couple of months ( 5 or 6) since I last up-dated my progress on the 2door. the "6 weeks" of heel time for my finger ended up being 9 because it was worse that thought and I couldnt leave it alone. It would just be getting better and I'd drop something on it or whack it. Any how I finished the underside with the car on a rotisserie which saved my back and shoulders from aging 5 years. The diff has been sand blasted and powder-coated and new brake lines installed. the front struts have had the same treatment and shortened and new gas shocks installed. I have new shocks of the rear and all the nolithanes are in the car. The new fuel and brake lines are installed under the car and its basicly ready to turn over (its currently up-side-down) and bolt up the diff and struts and put back on the ground. Oh I also have a mint set of mini-lights for it. I have decided to go for a full metal respray as the paint on it isnt compatable with modern paint but Ive brought a spray gun and will do it myself to save $$ and time. I will try to post some pics of it in the various stages some time. sorry for the long post.

Thanks for the long post, love to hear about the details. My 2-dr sedan needs the same kind of rust treatment ... It looks good on the outside, but.
