Hitachi chokes, plastic vs. metal.
Same size, same wiring. The are interchangeable.

Dual-wire version is wired the same (2nd wire is a take-off point for some other device)

Late versions have the fastening ring soldered to the unit. Older versions use a separate ring, making the housing-to-metal earth/ground connection very important to get clean.

 Re: Hitachi Automatic Choke heaters
Center icon (the eye-like symbol) is the Hitachi icon

Additionally, the early automatic choke heater (the cast metal one) also has these symbols:

* <-- CLOSE direction to close choke more tightly (see Choke Adjustment)
* 閉 Japanese character for close

* OPEN --> direction to rotate to open choke more fully
* 開 Japanese character for open

* チョーク弁 English word "choke" spelled out with Japanese characters (CHI-YOO-KU) and character for "valve"

* ISO means International Organization for Standardization
