 Re: Carbies
They're Matsuoka MSR 45mm. Like FCR only about $1000 US cheaper... same sliding throttle valve instead of butterfly. They're made by Mikuni. Manifold can be any Weber/Deltorro/Solex. This one's a vintage Tomei that's no longer produced. They pre-jet them to the specs you send them but I haven't cranked the motor yet so I'll let you know when I've got more practical experience with 'em. I'm told they're much easier than Webers etc... especially in places where the weather changes a lot. I live on a tiny island with nothing to block the weather so this is ideal. Here's more pics:

A full setup with their manifold though runs closer to 200K yen I think

Wow man these are good tomatoes! They work just about as good as injection and are excellent race carbs.

I actually prefer them to webers except jets for larger cylinder capacities are hard to get here.

Good score!!!!

They're aftermarket motorcycle carbs. Mostly seen Harley kits but I imagine there are more.

 Re: Carbies
feral you say just about as good as injection, are you reffering to single or quad throttle body injection or just in general, ya see b120dat keeps trying to tell me his webers are just as good as injection, i dont agree

 Re: Carbies
i didnt say they were better i said a set of well tuned Side draughts (aka webers, Dells, etc) could match or maybe even slighty out perform a EFI setup (factory with AM com), this doesnt mean they are better, cause the down side to the Carbs would be worse Fuel economy and regualr tuning periods......

all depends on what type of injection u want for which conditions, and also your preference

my preference is in my signature

 Re: Carbies
When I say just about as good as injection I mean the low speed response from the Mikuni flat slides is incredible. It will still not be as accurate as any well laid out injection system, but really do work very well and are usually a heap cheaper.

At wide open throttle, there is not a fairy's fart difference between injection and correctly set up carbs.

The flat slides have been around for many years (30+) and have been used on race bikes for years.

 Re: Carbies
True racing carbs still make as much power as even the best injection system.

The carbs just cost more and there harder to tune.
