will this work? A possible no-weld method.

1. Cut the corners off the 56 mount (circles)
2. Drill new holes in the mount further out
3. Bolt to the chassis using spacer blocks (green blocks) for 60A 5-speed

NOTE: 60L 5-speed doesn't need the spacers

No, it won't work. The 60-series gearbox mount holes are about 20mm further back.


but you could add a simple rectangle piece of metal as an adapter

This is even easier, no need to cut & drill the original mount
