Still today a lovely shape in many ways I wonder
if they copied the Renault Espace F1 concept
basically a Espace shell on Formula 1 chassis.

Is that Prost?

That looks incredible. No wonder Nissan joined up with Renault

Some of the renaults were cool but many were daggy
the Espace was excellent car esp the diesel version.

You can see the panel before the bottom of the windscreen
or above the firewall is identical. (forgot the term!)
as are many lines and overall body shape.

My best thing about renault was the sierra 807/843 engine
basically a 1.6 and 1.8 litre A12AY engine in full alloy
hemi heads 200hp in race spec.
It was originally based from the 1950s four pot that had
a wedge head but basically a full wet sleeve and alloy head
version of what we have as the datsun A series.
1950s and 60s Renault Gordinis were like 1k, 1.2k and cherry
Datsuns where in the early 70s but Renault went further with
this engine and put it into the A110 my fave Reny.

 Re: serena
I've never seen any of those Renaults. Renaults have been fairly rare here, I worked on a circa 1964 Renault 10(?) and gave a ride to a couple who drove their then-new Alliance into a lake. The only other one I can even think of was the Fuego. And of course the most popular of all the Le Car

funny how the Serena and the Espace have a similar cowl and overall shape. Coincidence?

 Re: serena
good sized nissan for daily and performance
better wheelbase than silvia like gtr 107 inches
body is as light as most Silvias etc.
GA16, SR18, sr20 and CD20ET powertrains easily enough
room for a VQ37 or even an sr20ve etc.
