Was the altenator overcharging, or was it just a crook battery?
I have not heard of a batery busting like this before without some external reason. Might be worth a quick check on Altenator voltage when it goes back on the road, just to be sure.

no as the i have a replacment battery for the one that was defected. the battery was over full, like to the top of the cellls , i dont know how this can happen but it did, plus the battery also had a internal problem. so it spat acid over teh engine and the battery bowed out like basketball.

i wasnt happy $120 battery ended up wrecking the engine and the bay

Batteries are often shipped to the outlets in a dry state, along with a container of battery acid. Sometimes it is premixed to the right strength, sometimes the retailer must put in a measured amount per cell & top up with distilled water, then they give it a partial charge. Either way, it is possible that the place that sold you the battery may be the culprits..

When my 1000 coupe was lightly crashed by it's original owner, it suffered a godawfull electrical short, melting the harness & boiling the battery. Like you, a full engine bay paint job is on the agenda. Bummer
