You can't say this isn't a cool action pic!

I got done in my 1000 wagon (with Tired A12) by a hand held radar doing 94km/h in a 70km/h zone.
But the cop gave it to me for 80 km/h as he said if I took it to court they wouldn't belive my car did this!
I still had the ####s but wasn't going to argue with this!

Yeah I thought that if I am going ot get the fine I at least want a memento of it. I framed it and it now hangs above the fishtank

See how I have now noticed the camera van and I'm braking really hard and the car is about to do a handstand?

 Re: My speeding Fine Picture
looks like he took your speed before you were braking though, i hooned around a corner today to find an unmarked car and a couple of cops doing something on the nature strip, got pulled over and the lady was talking to me about how stupid i was to do that, i stood there agreeing of course and one of the other cops rolls up on his pushbike and goes "oh a rally car" i thought oh crap but the poor barstard couldnt find anything unroadworthy so he couldnt canairy me . the lady said im lucky its a nice day and she was in a good mood and she let me go, telling me my car is very "distinctive" and shell be watching me cause it was in my local area, i think i might slow down im getting too many speeding tickets anyway and id like to get a couple of the local buissnesses to sponser my car but i was worried theyed get too many phone calls from people complaining about seeing a car with their name on it hooning around.

Are this 72 Km/h or 72 Mph? Here in Portugal if you do 72 in 60 (Km/h or Mph) you are still inside the tolerance. No one will give a fine to you. We always have something like 30 Km/h or 19 Mph of tolerance.

Man that would be sweet. Here in Canberra, Australia (Home of the polititions) it is $118 and 1 point of my license. We start with 12 and now I am on 11 after a lcean record for like 4 years...
Dammit...

And yeh, it was 72 KM/H in a 60 KM/H zone.
It was only because I had just finished going up a hill too....

Here it will be nothing until 80 or 90 Km/h. After that will be something like US$90.

Our speed limits are (Km/h)

City 50-tolerance 80
Freeway 100 - tolerance 130
Highway 120 - tolerance 150

More 60 Km/h than the limit (exemple:if you go over 180 on a Highway) you are going to driving school again to get a new license.

Wow. That would be sweet.
The guy who was checking his before me got done for 65k's in a 60 zone.
I thoguht that they unoficially gave you 10% allowance. But apparently not...

In most of australia the normal speed allowed are:
40k's in a school zone
60k's on suburban road
80k's on major roads
100 on parkways and highways
110 on highways once out of city.

In some cities (Like ours) they also have 50 zones on suburban roads that aren't the main suburban roads.

Exception is the Northern territory who have no speed limits once out of cities because there is pretty much nothing out there to hit.

I've heard that some stretches of interstate in Montana USA have no speed limit. I've never been there nor have I met anyone who has actually seen it. Anyone from up there care to confirm or deny this rumor?

I once got a ticket for doing 60mph (100km) in a 55 zone -- after cresting a hill and starting down. It's pretty much up to officer's discretion. I would guess it varies by state -- in California it seems like everybody does about 10-15 over the Highway limits, whereas near Seattle 5mph over is more common.

The "no limit" zones pretty much disappeared when the US government standardized on 55 mph around mid-1970s-- else the states got less highway funds.

According to newpaper articles, a while back Montana changed their limit to "no limit, but must drive at a safe speed for conditions", which meant the officer would determine how safe was allowed. I heard 90mph (150km) was about the max.

I've also heard many an older person talk about the 60s and 70s -- no limits in the long straight sparsely populated areas of Nevada, Montana, North Dakota, etc.

In California the max is 70mph/112km. Thats only on the interstates in some rural areas. Autos with trailers and trucks still have a 55mph/88km limit.
I've heard the same about Montana, 100mph in a minivan full of kids and I'm sure you get a ticket.

Montana USED to be unlimited daytime speed, and 75 mph at night on the interstate (controlled access, multiple lane divided highway) but now they have lowered it to 75 mph all the time.
here in utah it's 65 mph on interstate in the cities and 75 mph in the rural areas.
best of all the Boniville Salt Flats has a speed limit of 1000 mph.

Around here cops have non-marked NISSAN SUNNY, SUBARU IMPREZA and BMW 330d to persuit the speeders on the highway. However, only a blind will get caught by this since normally these cars are on the right lane at 90 Km/h (56 mph) and the other drivers are always over 80 (or 90) mph. The cop cars have two inside Mirrors and a camera and normally two officers, so it is quite simple to figure it out if they are COPS.

Inside the city, things are a litle diferent, normaly they have a old wreck van parked on the roadside with radar in the front of it. Handheld radars aren't used anymore (I think) since a photo is needed.

Radar Scaners are forbiden and the fine is quite expensive.

One more thing:

You can do all the burnouts that you want here. If a police want to fine you for that you have to go to court and he only can fine you in dangerous driving. Once a policeman cought me doing one and i asked him if he could fine me and he said he couldn
