 Re: ACTDAT cruise 15.02.04
hey, i reckon those 1600 boys would be worried about these utes stealing their show

good on ya's

i just noticed the bonnet latch mechanism is totally diffrent on prodat's ute (red one), there is no latch thing in the centre, and there is a spring on the close side, is this custom, or a later model ute thing, and how does it work its hard to tell from the picture?

It's custom. My ute's got the same as original coupes etc... Looks like he's got hood pins (or possibly locking ones) and that he's filled in the hole where the original latch mechanism was. The spring is probably just to locate the hood vertically (you know, keep it from bouncing)

I suspect prodats side pins are because he couldn't close the the bonnet, with the intercooler underneath. I had to be very careful with mine. He might also like the "look".

Right on the money Chris. The intercooler sits right where the latch would normally be. It has be filled in and therefore the pins hold the bonnet down. The spring is to stop movement as mentioned.

ah cool, but then how do you lock it, like so no-one else can get in, i had a mate putting padlocks on his bonnet pins when he had no grill but that didnt look too fancy

no locking so no-one else can get in Im afraid. However if someone was to open the bonnet the alarm & 3 point immobiliser means thats its ok.
