The 140J was a follow on from the PB110 school of design in that they both identical drive trains (L14 FS4W63 gearbox and H165 4.111 leaf sprung rear).

I have on in NZ at the moment I am trying to get an import approval for.

The 140Z was a KPB210, this thing is a P710, or is it a H710? It's a cross between the 210 and the 610, we never got them in Aust.

Nissan model 710 was badged as Nissan Violet or Datsun J (140J or 160J depending on engine size)

engines
 710: L14
P710: L16
H710: L20B

710 - 1973 UK version Datsun 140J with 1428 cc engine

It debuted the same time as the B210, of which the heavier models (PB210) used the same suspension. Heavier 710s used IRS just like the similar Bluebird 610. But most if not all exports used the H165 and H190 axles. In all dimensions the 710 was larger than the PB210 Excellent

wheelbase
710 : 2450 mm
B210: 2340 mm

Width:
710 : 1580 mm
B210: 1545 mm

length:
710 : 4120 mm
B210: 4045 mm (Excellent)

weight:
710 : 1005 kg
B210: 907 kg

So why did Nissan produce two cars the same size (610 and 710) with the same engines and suspensions? Because at the time, Nissan had multiple dealer networks in Japan (as they have Nissan and Infiniti now in many countries)

Errol there was a Violet for sale in Canberra not that long ago, I'll see if I can dig up the info.

Keep in touch with Matt and Graham, there might be the PB210 car coming up again soon

that looks just like a B210 sedan with a GX like bonnet and the same Grille as my coupe, but with a L series motor.
is this the sedan version of say the 140Z
