This is the new exhaust on my 180, I think I'm going to run about this size/type in the 1200 when it gets the SR.  If you can't read it, the ruler is in inches and the pipe measures 4.5" across!!

Believe it or not, thats almost 16 square inches of cross sectional area & there is not a 4 cylinder production engine on the road that "needs" that much pipe.
They have sunk small ships with guns that had a smaller bore than that
Have fun with it.

 Re: My new 180SX
most cars wouldnt have that much ground clearance, especially on a 1200 where are ya gonna fit it?, surely this is just the end not all the way through???

its hard enough to fit a 2 inch exhaust out the back of a coupe between the exhaust and petrol tank

that said, im starting to like these big exhaust tips, aslong as they are dump pipes and you cant see up em

nah it's not 4.5" all the way, only 80mm all the way, 120mm at the tip, but that would be literally awesome. I've seen a naturally aspirated 240Z that had a 4" exhaust all the way, without a muffler...sounded like a V-8 at idle. Yeah there isn't much room under the 1200 for anything. I think there's ways to get a 80mm mandrel bent exhaust under a 1200, just gonna have to be creative!

I'm with dodgeman.
I have a rusty old hunk of 2 1/4 inch pipe on mine, no wing, no stereo and no pillar mounted white faced anything.... I cant remember the last time I polished anything within 5 square miles of the car....
Strangely enough, it still goes ok...
