I was heading for Brisbane & it was late Monday morning on the 7th of December 1981 A crack had developed around the hood / bonnet latch, so i stopped in Tamworth at a panel shop to get it fixed. Taking it off took only a few minutes, but it took them 2 hours to weld a 3" crack. I got bored, & you get inflicted with a picture

I forgot to mention, note the factory sports option windscreen wiper blades. They have an aerofoil shaped piece across the blade area. The wiper arms are sports option too. They have a stronger spring to hold the blade on the screen.

Speaking of windscreens, this one was made to order by NM windscreens [now defunct]. It is laminated, with a full soft tint & a darker tinted band. This was the second one of three. They were only about $10 to $20 more than a stock laminated one.

I couldn't help myself. The original Datsun dealer flag from my stepfathers dealership [D & G motors in Blacktown] was used to adorn the back seat.
Show your pride!

Yes, i still have it, but it's not a towel, it's a full sized flag, complete with metal fittings & it's currently draped across the roof of my 1000 coupe.

At this stage, the engine was fairly new & only 3mm oversize in the bore. I eventually wore it out & bored it again. It's now worn out again. I'm just a highway cruisin junkie. Lurve that big big mileage.

This thing was the best highway cruiser i have ever owned. It wasn't the fastest thing around. but it's average speed across a given [preferably long] journey was right up there with the best of them.

This engine is the one that will be rebuilt [yet again] for my 1000 coupe, but this time with another bore job & an A14 crank.

Geeee-zuss. Here we have a nifty 1000 sedan, with big bore 1200GX, 5 speed trans, custom screen, factory sports option [race] wipers & arms, along with the rare factory sports option steerring wheel, & all you are interested in is the seat cover.
Bloody hell, whats it take to impress you lot.

The back seat in my 1200 needs recovering. This gives me the great idea! Any ideas where I can find material printed like that?

By the way, the car looks nice too.

What does a French flag look like? I know that they are into red white & blue, so maybee this could become a basis for a replica. With my luck, the tri-colour will have vertical stripes.

My flag is a fairly light one [flags come graded by weight for diferent wind conditions] & the colours & lettering are just printed onto it.

Thanks for the compliment.

hey Dodge, you are the man, I was thinking about that towel or flag in your rear seat too, since it was posted already(remark) i just listen, but, you got it, the French flag....a Datsun banner, excelent!!!

I will get a French flag, paint the Datsun Words on it, and fly it at home, also coool for a garage door, window curtain....cool idea.
