From the forest primeval comes a somewhat sad example of another Capitol Motors special. This pic was sent to me by a fellow club member to whom I am most gratefull.
Look at the rear portion of the roof where it meets the sides. You can see the stainless trim pieces that formed the edges of the vinyl top. You can also see the three holes where the dummy Landeau Iron was fitted.
These Vinyl top specials had the vinyl applied to a fully painted car at the Datsun distributors workshop in Sydney, & this is why there is no real rust in the roof that other cars had when their vinyl tops were applied over an unpainted roof at the factory.
Sadly, this car is so crook that it will be converted to components so that another may live, so all is not lost.
It would have been nice to have another one on the road with all the fruit, to park next to though.
I have already put my hand up for these trim pieces, just in case I buy another coupe.
Yes, that's another KB10 to the left of the picture. A virtual treasure trove in this forest.
