 Re: Tailgate Welded Until last week I would have said why bother just buy a new one and save yourself some time, (as I did).
BUT, the after preparing the new gate with primer etc and painting the ends, we put it on. Everything lined up perfect, latches etc, the we looked at the top of the tailgate!!!! one side was up about 25mm and the other was up about 10mm. The silly buggers had welded that top part of the gate on wrong. so we had to drill it off and fix it. THEN the inner liner part that screws on didn't fit!!AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Thats why I am glad to se that you are repairing yours, might save you some time!!

Re: Tailgate Welded I would have got a new skin, but the freight killed it. Mine wasn't too bad so opted to repair.
