nice price for 256mb one i guess but those things are all over the market at the moment - so eventually they will be cheap as chips. i was going to get 1 of these recently but ended up going with a CD based Sony mp3 walkman thing which also reads sony's (as used on net-md's) a-trac audio compression. can fit Lots of songs on disc - which incidentally holds upto 700mb of mp3's and isnt backlit and is hard to lose... all for $200 from sonyshop..

256mb equates to about 2.5 audio cd's worth of goodish quality vbr 128~256khz audio.

Thats a harsh call you can easily fit 60 good quality songs on this mp3 player. Two cds equates to around 35, which aint right.

Thanks for all the info anyway im sure we all needed to know that. And yeh i know u wanted to let everyone know the whole truth which is fine by me i just wanted to let you know i dont mind. All i have to say over the matter is that these are cheap, i aint making #### off them just tryin to get rid of them.

Nah mate they aint hot, only get hot if u heat them up with a lighter is about how hot they get

hey mate no offence im just tellin ppl what i think of the device. what i meant by being able to fit so many songs was songs in MP3 format, not raw WAV (normal audio CD).
with 64khz MP3's you can fit so many MP3's on there its not funny... something to the tune of 400 songs or so. that is 400 not so good quality songs though. any1 interested in this #### can ask me cuz i work with computers and do lots of stuff with audio/video. (im talking about using a CD here, not the 256mb MP3 device shown above)

Nah no offence taken bud, its just that i fit 68 (128 k compressed) songs on my player the other day. They were all of reasonable size between 3.5-4.5 mb too.
