All the sedans in NZ had the disc front end. The B&H series was NZ's version of the Bathurst 1000KM. Many Aussie stars like Moffat, Johnson and Jim Richards competed in showroom stock cars. The auto manufacturers gave this race very high priority and there were just about all the marques represented. The races importance created the demand for the 1200SSS and its Italian equivilent the Fiat 125T. As a kid I was taken to watch Gt Falcons, Monaros and Chargers race with Escorts, Cortinas and all these" foreign" cars including the Dattos..There were even Camaros and Mustangs run as well.

In the Bathurst races, cars were classified by their retail PRICE. This is a great way to classify stock cars as most buyers purchase new cars based on what they can afford. This style of racing allows potential buyers to see how well cars in their price range perform, & dealers reaped the benefit of a winner the very next morning.

A 1967 Datsun 1000 two door sedan won Class A in the '67 Gallaher 500 [sponsored by by the Gallaher International Cigarette Co. that year] This race has had many sponsors & is simply known as the Bathurst 500. Datsun 1000's were very popular from that moment on.

Yes, I believe it's a touring car kind of race. Looks like New Zealand's equivalent of Australia's Bathurst (Which is on this weekend).

No I don't think they needed to be homologatd, as my 1200 4 dooor sedan came with discs on the front, I'm not too sure but I think they may have been an option, albeit the only one my car had!
