AFracer

it seems common to cut out the front to allow easy engine install, the cut out is then bolted back in place so it can be quickly removed latter if needed, seems crazy to me, but i guess it saves a bit of time mucking around lowering the motor in

Thats one large turbo for a CA18 I thought Dattodudes was big
Ive seen quite a few with removable sections for fitting engine As it is a pain to install engine and box with front support panel still fitted. Its a bit easier with a hoist and workshop equipment ect but my father inlaw sold his servo :( now I have to do it all the hard way at home on cold concrete on my back ect.

That's what all the girls say

I cut out the front panel on my first CA18/1200. But it encouraged rust, because I never painted and sealed the new parts properly, and water used to get trapped in between the panels making rust worse.

As for the turbo, high mount is nice, but I bet his bonnet paint won't stay nice for long. I like to keep my turbo "hanging". Low mount turbos have a better outlet for the exhaust (less angle).

This car does look pretty mean though.

The huge cut out is not just to mke it easier to get the engine out its where the huge front mount cooler and radiator fit nicely behind the Coupe front grill!!!
