He would of had another cross member made up to suit, because if it took him 15mins to make up the new mounts I'd be worried to drive this thing. The conversion isn't the hardest conversion but don't think it's a weekend job, it take MANY!!!! hours...... and money

the 15 mins to unbolt old crossmember and put maddat crossmember in and i installed motor seperate from gearbox so i didnt scratch the paint tunnel is not made yet so gearbox doesnt fit yet.
Putting the motor is the easy part of a ca conversion ask anyone who has done it and im sure they will agree.
Im running standard ute diff for now.
Cheers Luke

 Re: CA18DET IN
You have put the engine in the way I would recommend. However, I recommend dropping the steering assembly from the pitman arm, and disconnect the trailing arm from the chassis, then undo the 4 bolts that hold the crossmember on, and lower the engine and crossmember. This makes putting on the gearbox, a much easier process.

Putting the engine in is easy'ish (especially with a fitting kit).

It's all of the wiring and space planning for where all the electricals and relays/fuses etc are going to go that is difficult.

It's the "amount of work and small jobs" that makes this a difficult process.
