guys I've been playing around with the concept of taking out the small window on the door (Can't remember it's official name right now.)  It should look something like the picture.  Has anyone done this and what do you think of the look and Idea.  I'm wanting to bring the mirror up off the door and put it right into the corner of the window frame like most modern cars have.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

 Re: Windows
I don't know how well it would work as an opening window it may have to be a fixed feature.

I might be biased but i find the "quaterlight" is very useful in cooling during summer and defogging the windows in winter!

Any how good luck it looks cool but i think the mirror may end up being a bit low depending on your seating arrangement?

 Re: Windows
I started to do this to one of my utes, and then decided against it as I used this ute for something else. VB VC VH Commodore mirrors fit with a bit of mucking around, but you have to get the end cut off your new glass to fit. Window slides are a bolt in affair and if you use VK commodore belt moulds cut down they look trick.and ytou can get one of those after market electic window kits and they bolt in the spare hole in the door near the handle
Id send some photos, but, as I said I started to do this and then saw the pics of the ute with the coupe front, so at the moment this car is cut in half, I will probably do this mod when the coupe front is welded on

HMMMMMM, i dunno. Thats a hard one, in away it looks good, but then again it looks a bit plain. I like having that front quarter window(except 4 the whistle). But i guess ir really comes down 2 what u like urself. If u like the look then go 4 it!!!!!!

 Re: Windows
looks good but personally i love opening my little quarter window for a little fresh air, it so much eaiser than opening the window.

Also if you guys didnt notice the little vent behind the window has been removed. Personally i dont like this but if your going for the smooth look like this ute (smoothed tailgate, no vents, custom windows) it suits.

Thanks for all the info and thoughts guys. Still not 100% sure which way I'll go with the windows, but at least you have given me some extra points to think about.
Cheers,
Disco.
