Nice clear pic of my Dat.  I'm really starting to love this car!  But a 5-speed sure would be nice....

You see tons of these at the local pic-a-parts at any given time. Very nice cond. drivers, but owners rather turn them in as tax credit than pass 'em on to somebody else

vehicle recovery program

At a local Pick and Pull, you can turn in your RUNNING vehicle for $500. It's a SMOG program. I think it's bullsh1t.

There are also many organizations that accept "donations" of cars for tax credit. I'm not sure what happens to those cars.

Wow!

I can buy old running beaters in this state for $100. So could I drive them to California and my friends there can transfer title then sell them to the junkyard for $500 ??? That would pay for a trip down there.

That's wild. And the taxpayers are paying for these buyouts?

Yeah the windows are way too dark - the PO did that. At some point I'll scrape it all off but for now it's really helping with this hot Texas summer heat. Oh and woodydat, the picture makes it look much better than it really is. It's got dings all over it including the hood and a big dent on the fender under that rust mark. But like I said I'm starting to really love this car so I may end up dumping some real money into it at some point.

The Post Office did that?

This is a nice B310, I like the color and the wheels. The coupe seems to be more rare these days; all the ones I've seen this summer have been 2-dr sedans.

Are those factory alloy wheels?

Heheh, previous owner funny guy... Actually those are 280ZX factory rims, but I replaced the "Z" center caps with "D" caps from a 310 :) (I've uploaded a close-up pic of the wheels to the site - see my other pics) I haven't figured out what the stock wheels look like, or if they were wheel covers with steel rims. I'm looking around for vintage ads and photos for details like this.

 Re: 1979 Datsun 210
Those wheels do look good on the car. I just traded some stock 210 (B310) Alloy wheels for a Comp. head.

Oh I am sending this car to the wreckers next week. Gotta get rid of it. (no motor, no trans)
Wheels are obviously gone too.
All the sheet metal is good.
Anyone want it or parts?

Hey Bluemax, if that car is still around, I sure could use the end caps off the rear bumper.
I have a 76, they are not the same but I look at it this way: Something is better than nothing. It really bugs me to see the big gap between the bumper and the body

 Re: 1979 Datsun 210
What is the ratio of the differential? If it is 1980 it should list it on the underhood ID plate. If it is a 3.7 or smaller number I want it.

Guys, don't forget to consider all the many parts that fit B210s and B110s... parts interchange, B310
