These are actually Sunnys, despite the fact that it is a Datsun brochure

 Re: 1000 coupes
I fitted simialr looking driving lights to mine years ago.
Seems like it was a good idea after all

I can't recall seeing any headrests in my spares.

Both the driving lights & the head rests [hard to see] are original options.
Have any of our 1000 coupe owners seen any of these in Australia?

I hope to find at least one headrest to buy, or to borrow as a sample.

the driving lights look good. I assume that they are mounted where the bolys come try the top to connect the side section of the bumper. Where the mount that does thru the apron connects also.
For my driving lights, i made up a bracket that bolts to the plate bracket

I'm not sure if i know what you mean by them being mounted "where the bolys come try the top to connect etc"

The coupe bumper is a one piece item while all others are two pieces. When i restored my wifes '68 two door sedan [see my photo album] i removed two of the original dome head bolts & placed the Hella fog loghts in there, but the coupe is a diferent setup.

The fog lamps were a factory option, so i assume that if they were ordered on a new car, there would have been a standard fitment position, but if they were dealer fitted to a showroom-stock vehicle, or fitted to an existing vehicle as an after-sale accessory, there may have been some variation in mounting position.

The lamps on the green coupe in Phunkdoctaspock's photo album are mounted a little closer together than the lamps in the brochure.

I don't think that the head rests were ever offered in Australia, but i live in hope.

P.S. I am prepared to import some from Japan if anyone has any.
