Now this is my vision for my ute. This is photochopped but when my rims and airbags going on in December, this is what my ute should look like. What do you think of the look?

Actually I didn't know that you could enter unregistered cars. In that case I might just think of bringing it along. However the interior hasn't been done, but it would be good just be cruizin around.
As for the front suspension I'm using a 4 1/2 inch air bag. They are designed for cars weighing less than 800kg. There is enough room under the strut tower to fit it in. The handling should improve immensly. I will gather some progress picks as I the system is put together. Bring on 1 November as that is the start date for all this to happen. Can't wait.
I get my motor back too on the 1st of October. It's a blown A14, fully balanced with a 2L supercharger on it. Got a GX head that with copper gaskets, bigger cam and everything else possible done to it. The engine builder has predicted it should achieve 300hp at the flywheel. It's going to great to drive my ute with all this stuff on it. I can't wait. I've been saving now for over 2 years to get all this done and it's finally happening.
Cheers,
Stu.

So with the front bags installed how does the top strut mount work? Is the bag like a doughnut and the absorber fits through it like it would a spring or is there some other design? Who makes the bags your looking at using? Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm (obviously) curious as I'd like to get my project designed too!

Not sure of all the details of how everything is going to work. The front bags are made by Air Ride Technologies but someone else is doing the conversion work for me. I will source all the information and get back to you with some answers once the job is complete. At that stage too I'll be able to take some really detailed photo's so that yourself and others can use the images to help with your own projects.
Cheers,
Stu.

I'm using the "Ride Pro e" system from Air Ride Technologies. The prices etc are on the website Air Ride Technologies. I'm getting my whole undercarriage of the car done, brakes, diff, suspension, wheels, etc all done at the same time. Cost will be somewhere around $15,000. I'm get a lot of stuff polished though so that's why the price is fairly high.

How are you doing the front? Are there strut-based kits available cause I've looked and all I could find was car-specific stuff for Honduhs. Got a link for what you're looking at using? Should look great when it's done. Take a lot of progress pics if you can. I want to do a wagon up similar since my wife loved the bagged El Camino she saw in the states.

 Re: My Airbagged Vision
I only live 10mins from where the summernats are held, but I can't take the ute as it won't be registered. There's lots more I've got to do before it hits the road.
I'm going to set the standard ride height at 3 inches off the floor. I've got a control unit inside the cabin where I can adjust it up or down as I like. The car is also being set up so that when the ignition is off, it immediately dumps so the belly is about 1mm off the floor. People will be tripping over it before they see it.
cheers
Stu.

i cant take the ute as it wont be registered.

u do know that you can enter unregistered cars iin the nats? i would say at least 1/2 of the cars entered are unregistered. all u will need is a trailer to take it in on.

 Re: My Airbagged Vision
Here l was thinking l'm the only person crazy enough to want airbags on a 1200 ute!!! Cant wait to see it finished.

Is it being fully C notched?? I presume you cant body drop it (not easily anyway!!), so it wont drag on the ground??

Ahhh, l'm getting too excited about the idea!!!!

You have to let me know more when you get closer to finishing......

with that flat four subey motor in the back you
have to be careful not to damage the sump and
other engine bits when on full low. :)
