Id love to see a well sorted A15 bottom end with the twin cam head
from the MX5 or miata that has been available.
The 1600cc class Miatas in the US are making 180+hp atw
The A series bottom end can take what these head dish out

Yep, it looks to be a '69 or '70 standard two door sedan & this is probably the best choice in a Datsun 1000 for racing as they are the lightest, while the two door body would also be the strongest.
It's good to see it out there flying the Datsun 1000 flag. I wish him well.

How fast was it?

it does mid 51s here at Mt Cotton Hillclimb where the photo was taken. Quite respectable times for an under 1600 car.

Theres nothing to the b10 and shedding the bumpers will make it even lighter mayber 12 kgs less plus any engine that makes a 1200 move quick will make a 1k a nice little giant killer.

Great stuff, although I must point out that it is a 2 door sedan not a coupe.
The coupe is a little bit heavier.
