Australia has a very similar land mass as the 'lower 48' states of the US. If you measure across a map of the US about 1/3rd inland from the west coast, then draw a vertical line from Canada to Mexico, you will get a rough approximation of Western Australia. That's just one state.
Missouri fits into our smallest mainland state, Victoria, about twice.
Across the top there were cattle properties that were bigger than some European countries [Victoria River Downs was bigger than Belgium in the 1920's through to the '50's & 60's] & of course, when driving in country areas, you need to be carefull of the 'Outback Mice'
Those Outback mice can do a LOT of Damage to a fast moving small Datsun.
