 Re: Crashed the datto
I was following this lady and as we were coming around this tight corner she indicate and braked hard at the same time to go into her driveway and I slammed straight up the back of her at about 30 to 40km/h.

I need a new guard, bonnet should be able to be panel beated and the front body area needs to be straightened. It appears that the strut tower did not get pushed back.

The thing that really pisses me off is that she said I was tailgateing even though I was not. It was just the fact that it was on a tight corner.

She was in a new camary and it took out her rear left tail lights and bumper. Missed all body work and I have a $1000 premium to pay.

Did she call the cops?? I hope not cause you'll be charged with following to closely .. The law states that you should be following far enough behind to stop in an emergency .
I hate to say it ( especially to a Datto driver ) but it seems to me that you were in the wrong .
You should have had time and room to stop no matter what . I also ride motorcycles and in the same situation if that happened I'd be in hospital for sure ....... and it would've been my fault for not paying attention .

Nah, no cops luckily i suppose. I'm not saying I wasn't too close but I only became that close to her when coming around the tight corner. She also mentioned that she braked hard to try and give me a bit of a scare. Obviously the F-wit took it a bit far.

Ok if she was being a smart ass you need an old Landrover with a big bullbar that'll soon stop people like that on the road . I'll have a look around at the wreckers on this side of town next week and let you know if there's any parts available..

Yeah thanks for that. That would be great. I might have some luck tommorrow with some guy that is apparently a total datto 1200 freak and has a full shed full of parts.

The best thing that comes out of this crash is now I have an excuse to paint over those crappy pinstripes.
