sometimes i wish us blokes could pull together and help out in circumstances like this one, but, at the end of the day we all seem to be short on cash, and i guess thats why we drive datsuns in the first place

you'll pull through dude

And thats not all, there is more damage. check the other pics

But the engine fired straight up, kegs and doesnt seem too thrashed, i took it for a little drive today, but i'll never know.

There was no damage to the ignition barrel, door locks or steering locks what so ever, that that makes me wonder

I hope you get it fixed up for not too much. I understand how frustrating it must be, but the bright side is you did get it back.

Not really.... The original ignition is not hard to get around at all, if it doesn't have any immobilizer or anything. I've found that out easy enough with the amount of bush bangers i've had over the years that i didn't have keys for.

What are the odds that the door was unlocked, or the window (or the quater window) open just a crack???

(I better shut up before I get the cops knocking on my door()... but i'm not such a low-life as to pinch some one elses car )

EDIT'ed..I didn't want this to be a HOWTO section on stealing 1200s.

But...

1200s are at the bottom of the class, when it comes to theft resistance.

Get an alarm.. and don't leave it anywhere unless you can avoid it.

Chris

OK, to fix it properly you are going to need, 2 rear quaters, a door skin and front right guard. Tail light and surround. I am about to do the same to my "good" ute, got backed into last new years by a "mate".

If you could handle a bit of bog in it, then you could drop the panel requirements. It will be a bit of a bitch to do for sure, but it is repairable, easier than a new shell.

If you are not keen to repair it, send me a PM/email with a price to buy it!

PS. Don't make me buy it, I already have 3 non running utes for "oneday".
