This would be the best 1200 you will see for a looong time. Note the quality of the panel fit.

looks even better in the flesh. i was down there today, plenty to see. met dattodude face to face, what a nice guy....

I was however a little dissapointed with the lack of stock std datsuns on show, almost 90% of all the 1600's didnt run an L-series engine. im sort of over seeing FJ's and SR's in 1600's. Cant knock their presentation though.

the highlights for me were the "Prince skyline GT" and a super emaculate 240Z racing machine, silver with orange GT stripes.

Once again, top effort chris [dattodude] great build......best 1200 sedan on show, hands down

Benny

This Photo is good but I have to agree in the flesh this car is a standout.
Chris when you get back and revisit the RTA remember to be friendly but unhelpful back to them.

This was my favorite of the all the datsun's at the show, closely followed by an orange 240z.. and there was alot of great cars there!

I haven't seen one of those Prince Skyline GT's since the 60's. We always believed that they had three Webbers, & that's what's on this one. 2332owner seems to think that they should be Solex's, but i suspect that Webbers are correct. This is a truly historic car.

There was an unrestored & stock 1600 there with about 28,000 original miles. & the orange 1200 coupe on historic vehicle plates was interesting as the aftermarket steering wheel was on the passenger floor, & the aftermarket mags were on the car. Historic?? Hmmm
I didn't know that there were that many Z cars in Australia & 1600's dont look like becoming extinct anytime soon either judging by the number of them there.

Thx Dodge & others for all the pics.

I so wish I was there, I'd almost think it was worth the $1k air fare just to be there this weekend

Webers are correct for that model - I have a mate who owns one. Apparently there's only about 40 in the country that the Historic Skyline register know of!

Yes congrats Chris for making it down there!!!
I wasnt originally going down, but my friend brought his Saab turbo down to Wakefield the day before and he blew it sky high, and we had to hire a trailer the next day and pick the thing up. (he is gradually getting rid of his Euro fettish!!!)
Chris you'll have to let me know how that rear suspension setup goes at Wakefield.
Good to see Jon (flyby) there as well he also rushed to get it together as well.
The thing I most loved was the Skyline GTR copy.....absolutely gorgeous.
Anyone got a photo of it, as it was spectacular...
