If you are going to operate them buy remote ( alarm or imobiliser ) it makes no difference.
If not, Use both masters, that way if you unlock or lock either door the other will operate also.

Did it come with a remote? You need one to control the system if you want remote unlocking/locking

You can make those fit into anything

I put them in a civic and in a S12 Silvia
You can do this fairly quickly depending on how much crap you have to fit the wires through.
I sepnd about 6-8 hours doing it on the Silvia but there is alot to take apart.

A Datsun 1200 would probably be one of the easiest cars to do it cuz theres nothing inside the doors.. just a little drilling.

Go grab and alarm for the car, that would be your best option...

If you just want the doors sto open and close on the push of a button just grab an old used alarm from somewhere and dont hook the rest of the crap up.. but if you got the alarm you might as well hook up the siren at least to keep @$$holes away.

I bought my door lock motors for $25 brand new and a used viper alarm off of a friend for $20... less than 50 bucks and a couple of days later its all done...

You can definately do this by yourself... and if you cant, ... then call me and fly me over and I'll do it for you for free

It's kinda easy. I have done the four-door option on the Hilux cause I couldn't unlock the doors on the other side of the car (truck) by leaning through. I had to walk around and use the key...

If you get the kit suitable for conection to alarm - most should be. This will look like two spare wires.
And get an alarm with central locking output, this will look like two spare wires.

Guess what? You conect those two spare wires together and hey presto your keyless alarm now pops the doors.

I did my set up at least two years ago and the costs were like $40 for the central locking kit and $90 for the dodgy K-mart alarm with key fobs. Obviously if you really love your car you might want to think about a better alarm.

Most alarms even have an extra function so you could keep one of those solenoids and hook it up as a remote boot release...

Just do it...

Hey guys. Please remember that the back doors are "slave" solenoids. When you push them up and down manually, they don't trigger the others to do the same. This only works for the "master" solenoids, which are the front two. To identify the difference, the master ones have a couple of (at least one) extra wires coming out of them.

they are useless without the little computer that comes with it.. also you need one of the actuators with the 5 wire hook up (put this one in you drivers door)

s'all goode though

not technically true. you can hook up two relays to work the same as the "computer" that comes with them, i know i used to install them for a living and you dont need the master at all if you're running them off a remote immobiliser.

Correct.
Computer = 2 change over relays in a pretty box
