Foreign, yes but also very reliable and availiable and very fast even for a 1600cc. Most RSA ute (bakkie's) are fitted with this 4AGZE Toyota engine, the "Z" meaning its the supercharged version, the supercharger is replaced with a turbo though to make that extra KW's.

i've got a toyota engine in MY datto and it makes more power in NA form than an L28 turbo!

Its a Toyota 4AGZE engine...I think the badge on the grill also explains it.

Looks like this Datsun was having heart transplant rejection problems. I understand that rejection occurs when you transplant organs from another, foreign, species.
