Re: GENERAL LEE A bigger picture would be good - let's see this beast up close! - or was this photo taken from a satellite?

Re: GENERAL LEE This picture was acctually alot bigger. But in order to shrink the file size the picture became so small you need a magnifing glass to see it. Does anyone know how to shrink the file size without shrinking the picture?
I am taking it to the track for the first time this friday. I will update "ya all" on what she can do. Tomarrow I am installing my newly recurved distributor. That should help out a bit.
I just finished my suspension. I cant believe how tight the car handles now. I am very pleased.

Re: GENERAL LEE damn. Im sorry I was just diggin in my files I cant seem to find it. Ill keep looking though. I do know that they are 3.0685" in dia and the piston weights 253.5g I found this info on my balance sheet. During install my buddy and I broke an ring and had to reorder one. The part number was JE XC78 or JE XC7800 I believe. I hope that helps.

Re: GENERAL LEE General, I would be very interested in finding out more about these J&E pistons. Can you tell me who you bought them from and how much? Are they forged or cast? Was there an appreciable difference in the motors performance once you fitted them- assuming that you made no other mods at the same time? Cheers Dave

Re: GENERAL LEE I purchased the pistons from the late Malvern Racing. I believe that i payed about $550 for all four pistons, rings and pins. They are full floating and forged. When i fitted them I also fitted everything else at the same time. damn near quadrupled the power (estimating). I have not yet dynoed it. Do a search in yahoo or something for JE forged pistons, get there number and ask them. They should be able to help you more than I could about the specs of the pistons. I have mislocated my spec sheet. Sorry

Re: GENERAL LEE I'll be at Evergreen Speedway Saturday night but they won't let me run my car unless I am willing to put a few dents in it. I help out with the Ambulance Crew. Looks like your runin' close to the same stuff I have in my 1973. I have the Electronic Ing. but am not using the MSN. Compressions not quit 11:1 only because I had plans for a turbo. I instead went with dual 32/36 down drafts. 279 duration cam from Delta Cam. It will easily run 9000rpm. Have to do a road trip south to your area.
