I was thinking you would be telling us a nice clean story, Chris.

Ooooh i got so dirty, rubbing my hands all over its sensuous curves, feeling with my fingers each & every inch of its skin.
I would describe it all for you, touch by touch, stroke by stroke, but the moderators probably don't approve of such things.
Anyway, it's all clean now.

I was just picturing dodgeman with no clothes on (also in the bath), whilst scrubbing clean this wonderful GX part.

A horrible picture really. (No offence), just thought I'd share these perverse thoughts, which I can now not get out of my head.

I may need to get some shock therapy...I'll make the appointment now!

I can't say I have ever liked the GX bonnet. The lines of it, doesn't flow with anything else on a 1200. ( maybe it's just me )

You're right, it's not a pretty sight, but save yourself some cash. Just pull back the insulating boot on one of your spark plugs, then whenever you have these unhealthy thoughts, just start the engine, then grab the terminal at the top of the plug.

You can believe me when i say that the last thing on your mind will be images of naked old fat men. Therapy complete & money saved.

I bought the bonnet /hood with an eye to the future & because I like it. I think that the little raised section at the front is very stylish for this era & suits the car perfectly. Just my opinion.

This is the 1200 GX bonnet that i took delivery of yesterday [sat] It was looking really scruffy & desperately needed a bath, so it got one.
This will be handed to the nice car doctor at the car hospital where my 1000 coupe is & it will be completely restored. Then this, along with two new front guards, will be fitted to Dat-Nat's 1200 coupe. Some new rubbers & bailey channel, some minor dent & paint repair & it's back on the road again.

Give me a year & it will be a very tidy 1200 coupe.

I like the hood, doubtless, but "took delivery of" sounds like you bought a new Benz or something.

 Re: Bathtime, a GX story
I bought, & paid for, the hood in Melbourne about six weeks ago. It was only during this last week that the opportunity to get it delivered to me came up.
I met the fellow who was bringing it [not the seller] while on his way to Sydney, out on the highway at a pre-determined time & place, & "took delivery" of my hood.

It looked very poor & i not only washed it, but got stuck into it with some 1200 grit WetorDry paper to remove the worst of the marks. It will be lime blasted soon, but i wanted to clean it up while waiting for an ebay item to expire at 1:30 this morning.
[Tail light stalks for my '33 coupe. I went to $355 US & didn't win them]
