Hmmm, I'm baffled with the origin of this engine, it definitely isn't stock as engine no. (A12 620373 D) doesnt match that on the car. The distributor is mounted near the third spark plug back. The engine mounts have also appear modified to accept this engine. heres a better pic of engine bay... http://datsun1200.com/modules/myalbum/photo.php?lid=6810

Did this engine come standard on any 1200's or is it from a 120Y? although all the 120Y's Ive seen here (barbados) have an A14. Where can I find specs/information on this engine as Im looking to rebuild it soon.

it could be an a12 from a 120y

Looks like an A14. I can see the flat plate on the motor mount.
