Ah, the Dent. This is caused by leaning over to work on the engine. The panels are thin.

Maybe those J-spec fender or wing mirrors aren't such a bad idea! They'd keep you from leaning on THAT part of the fender at least.

Me TOO!!!!
Previous owner said that a dog ran into him.
He didn't hit the dog.
It ran into him. Said he was waiting at an intersection and the dog was running after it's owner who had already crossed the road and the dog hit him...

Doesn't make me understand why there was an exact copy of the same dent on the other side of my car though...

I think that that part of the front panel is like the "1200 Sweet Spot". Kinda like the centre of a tennis racquet

 Re: Datsun 1200
I think you're right about the sweet spot theory, I've got exactly the same dent in my 1200 sedan, thought that someone had run into my car without telling me when i first saw it!

 Re: Datsun 1200
Does it have no engine in it? Or is that something to do with drag racing suspension?

Looks bloody nice though...

 Re: Datsun 1200
I would say it has no engine, also appears to have no interior or dash
