Finally off to the engine tuner today...well exhaust shop first then engine tuner tomorrow.
Tuner insists he "needs to take it for a run to tune it properly". I thought that was what his dyno was for..??

Funny, that background looks like it could've been in San Diego since we have so many Euc's!

Evilsim,....I will try to get to that event to have a look. I saw your fathers e-type (very nice) sitting at McPhillamy Park at the last hillclimb but didn't catch up with him. He should run it in the event.

Andrew....It looks ok in photos but it's really a bit rough. Not too straight but then it was only ever built for hillclimbs and so on so it doesn't really matter. We're planning on heading up to the 1/8th at Wellington to have a look. It'd be good to see your machine there. A few of the V8 boys would be very surprised by it's performance. I saw you run at the last super sprint in Bathurst....very quick indeed..!!!! Traction will be your biggest problem at the drags....but it'd be good to see.

Hmmmmm very tide lookin coupe, is this a new rally coupe in the making??
Your tuner will want to take the car for a drive to check that he has done it right, As has already been mentioned, most good tuners will not only be interested in WOT settings but be considerate enough to be conserned with part throttle A/F ratios.
Good luck with it.

 Re: Off to the Tuner
Thanks. Tuner and I finally came to an agreement after a few boundaries were set. I only initially wanted it tuned so that it would run and idle under 2000rpm....which for the moment it didn't. (New carbies straight out of the box.)
Evilsim....I'll take it for a run to Sydney and give you a drive when it's engineered...which now won't be until 14 September. (engineer has gone on holidays)
Did John mention any figures on your motor??

 Re: Off to the Tuner
he didnt re-jet or dyno mine, my webers were bought from vic and they were pre-jetted for an a15, thats all i knew. it started (fresh rebuild), he tuned it a lil, to run rich. i was in a hurry to return to sydney, problems with manifold/extractors wasted good tuning time.
ive been meaning to book it in there but when i dropped in last time i was in town he said not to worry (i think he was too busy at the time)..
some mates here rekon theres a place down near Brookvale that'll tune and rejet if req'd for under 100$. either way too busy to get to either atm. crappy WORK..
sept 14 a wednesday.. if its gonna be in the day-time tell me ill take some leave from work.
btw the old man is officialling a spot for East Coast Targa when it comes through near you if youre keen to watch from a good spot. (quite soon)

I pressume John Cain (spelling)?? is tuning your car in Orange?? He tuned mine many years ago when it was A14 powered.
Once its all up and regoed whats the plans for it. Should bring it over to bathurst for a few club days.
Im thinking of taking my 1200 to wellington for some 1/8th mile action in 2 weeks. Might see you there.

 Re: Off to the Tuner
Maybe he wants to check the driveability of it at part throttle response etc?
